The oldest cutting process that can be used with steel, gives a smooth cutting surface, generating a little slag on the bottom edge

Cutting of oxy-gas or flame cutting is by far the oldest cutting process that can be used in the case of steel.  
Oxygen cutting provides a smooth cutting surface, generating a little slag on the bottom edge, and the top edge is only slightly rounded from preheating.

advantages

  • The most used tehnology for cutting thick steel sheet (over 15 mm)
  • Simple, reliable and flexible process: oxi-gas can be deburred up to a tickness of 180 mm
  • Cut edges have a good perpendicularity 

disadvantages 

  • Cutting speed lower than plasma and laser, especially thin sheets
  • It is not possible to dispense non-ferrous materials with oxi-gas (stainless steel, aluminum, cast iron, cooper)

  • Cutting surface: 3000 x 2000 mm
  • Maximum cutting thickness: 100 mm
